Emmara, Soul of the Accord costs {G}{W} and is a 2/2 Legendary Elf Cleric. Whenever Emmara becomes tapped, you create a 1/1 white Soldier creature token with lifelink. Anything that taps Emmara makes a token, so mana abilities that tap creatures turn into token makers.
The precon already has the token makers and the tapping mana, including March of the Multitudes, Harvest Season, Jaspera Sentinel, Idol of Oblivion and Champion of Lambholt. Each swap below pairs a cut with an add, and every card is scored with the same numbers the Oracle uses to build decks: synergy and inclusion from the Emmara decks, plus lift, which shows how much more often a card turns up in Emmara decks than in decks that could play it.

What is holding the deck back
Not enough ways to tap Emmara
Springleaf Drum, Survivors' Encampment and Glare of Subdual tap your creatures for mana or effects, and Wylie Duke and Drumbellower reward tapping and untapping. They are among the top-scoring cards the precon leaves out.
Token makers without payoffs
Queen Allenal of Ruadach, King Darien and Intangible Virtue make every token bigger or add one, and Divine Visitation turns every token into a 4/4 flying Angel. Jade Mage, Selesnya Guildmage and Sporemound only make a single Saproling.
Expensive creatures
Verdant Force costs eight and Great Oak Guardian costs six, and the deck has 8 nonland cards at mana value six or more.
The 10 swaps
Each pair shows the numbers for the card coming out and the card going in. Click a card image to zoom.

Jade Mage is a two-mana 2/1 that makes a Saproling for {2}{G}. It is played in about one Emmara deck in seven.
Queen Allenal of Ruadach is a Legendary Elf Noble for {G}{W}{W}. Her power and toughness equal the number of creatures you control, and if you would create creature tokens, those tokens plus a 1/1 Soldier are created instead. A three-drop that adds a token to every Emmara trigger, and the highest-scoring card the precon leaves out.

Selesnya Guildmage is a two-mana 2/2 that makes a Saproling for {3}{G}. It is played in about one Emmara deck in seven.
King Darien XLVIII is a 2/3 Legendary Human Soldier for {1}{G}{W}. Other creatures you control get +1/+1, and for {3}{G}{W} he gets a +1/+1 counter and makes a 1/1 Soldier. Sacrificing him gives your creature tokens hexproof and indestructible. A three-drop anthem that protects the tokens.

Voice of Many is a four-mana 3/3 that draws a card for each opponent with fewer creatures. It is played in about one Emmara deck in six.
Wylie Duke, Atiin Hero is a 4/2 Legendary Human Ranger for {1}{G}{W} with vigilance. Whenever it becomes tapped you gain 1 life and draw a card. A three-drop that draws on every tap and attacks without tapping.

Sporemound is a five-mana 3/3 that makes a Saproling when a land enters. It is played in about one Emmara deck in six.
Welcoming Vampire is a 2/3 flying Vampire for {2}{W}. Whenever one or more other creatures you control with power 2 or less enter, you draw a card, once each turn. A three-drop that draws a card off all the 1/1 tokens.

Scavenging Ooze is a two-mana 2/2 that eats graveyards for counters. It is played in about one Emmara deck in five.
Drumbellower is a 2/1 flying Spirit for {2}{W}. It untaps all creatures you control during each other player's untap step. A three-drop that untaps everything on opponents' turns, so tapped creatures can still block.

Verdant Force is an eight-mana 7/7 that makes a Saproling at each upkeep. It is played in about one Emmara deck in five.
Divine Visitation costs {3}{W}{W}. If one or more creature tokens would be created under your control, that many 4/4 white Angel creature tokens with flying and vigilance are created instead. A five-mana enchantment that turns every Emmara trigger into a 4/4 flyer.

Great Oak Guardian is a six-mana 4/5 with flash that pumps and untaps your creatures. It is played in about one Emmara deck in five.
Glare of Subdual costs {2}{G}{W}. Tap an untapped creature you control: tap target artifact or creature. A four-mana enchantment that taps your creatures at will, including Emmara, and taps down an opponent's.

Ajani, Caller of the Pride is a three-mana planeswalker that adds counters and gives double strike. It is played in about one Emmara deck in five.
Intangible Virtue costs {1}{W}. Creature tokens you control get +1/+1 and have vigilance. A two-mana enchantment that makes every Soldier a 2/2.

Scatter the Seeds is a five-mana instant with convoke that makes three Saprolings. It is played in about one Emmara deck in five.
Springleaf Drum costs {1}. For a tap and tapping an untapped creature you control, you add one mana of any color. A one-mana artifact that taps Emmara for a token and for mana.

Slate of Ancestry is a four-mana artifact that draws cards equal to your creatures for {4}, a tap and your discarded hand. It is played in about one Emmara deck in five.
Survivors' Encampment is a land that taps for {C}, or taps along with an untapped creature you control for one mana of any color. A land that fixes colors and taps Emmara for a token.

What to keep
These cards are doing the deck's heavy lifting. Do not cut them.
- March of the Multitudes$0.65
Played in 77% of Emmara decks. Makes X lifelink Soldiers, and convoke taps your creatures to pay. - Harvest Season$1.19
Played in 70% of Emmara decks. Fetches a land for each tapped creature you control. - Champion of Lambholt$2.65
Played in 69% of Emmara decks. Grows with every token Emmara makes. - Idol of Oblivion$2.65
Played in 68% of Emmara decks. Draws a card on any turn you created a token. - Jaspera Sentinel$0.18
Played in 67% of Emmara decks. Taps two creatures for mana of any color.
If you want to spend more
These are strong but sit outside a budget upgrade. Prices are the cheapest paper printing.
- Halo Fountain$7.12
An artifact that untaps tapped creatures to make Citizens and draw cards. It costs more than a budget upgrade should. - Quest for Renewal$4.64
An enchantment that gains quest counters when your creatures tap and then untaps them on opponents' turns. It costs more than a budget upgrade should.
Token Triumph already has the token makers, the tapping mana and Emmara's engine. The upgrade is cheap ways to tap Emmara and cards that make every token bigger, in place of slow token makers and expensive creatures. These ten swaps cost about $8 in total.

How the numbers work
Inclusion is the share of Emmara, Soul of the Accord decks (5,878 of them when this was written, 2026-10-28) that play the card. Synergy is how much more often they play it than other decks in the same colours. Oracle score is synergy × 0.6 plus inclusion × 0.4, the same blend The Oracle uses to rank cards for a deck. Lift compares how often the card appears in these decks with how often it could, capped at 8× here; it is shown for context and does not change the score.
Two cautions. Players who run the precon unmodified count as Emmara decks, which flatters every card the precon contains. Lift is high for many token cards because few decks play them outside a tokens deck, so use lift to compare cards, not to judge one in isolation. Prices are the cheapest non-foil paper printing on TCGplayer (via Scryfall), in USD, and move daily.
