Overview
Entropic Uprising is a chaos deck that wants to cascade into everything. Yidris, Maelstrom Wielder is a 5/4 with trample, and whenever it deals combat damage to a player, the spells you cast from your hand this turn gain cascade. You exile cards from your library until you find a cheaper nonland card and cast it for free, so each spell becomes two.
The 99 cards are 22 creatures, 8 artifacts, 3 enchantments, 7 instants, 20 sorceries and 39 lands. The deck has natural cascade cards such as Bloodbraid Elf, Etherium-Horn Sorcerer and Bituminous Blast, and wheel effects such as Wheel of Fate, Reforge the Soul, Windfall, Whispering Madness and Dragon Mage, that make each player discard their hand and draw seven cards. Payoffs for opponents discarding include Waste Not, Nath of the Gilt-Leaf and Sangromancer.
Key Cards
Playing the Deck
The early game is about mana and cheap draws. Sol Ring, Chromatic Lantern, Fellwar Stone, Commander's Sphere and Far Wanderings ramp you, Coiling Oracle, Satyr Wayfinder and Wall of Blossoms smooth your hand, and Thrasios, Triton Hero and Kydele, Chosen of Kruphix add card flow. Four-colour mana fixing matters, so Ash Barrens and Terramorphic Expanse help.
The middle of the game is about connecting and cascading. Yidris, Maelstrom Wielder attacks, Whispersilk Cloak makes it unblockable, Glint-Eye Nephilim draws cards when it hits, Blood Tyrant grows and drains, and Vial Smasher the Fierce damages a random opponent when you cast your first spell each turn. Goblin Spymaster and Frenzied Fugue add chaos.
The late game is about wheels and big plays. Dragon Mage, Runehorn Hellkite and Reforge the Soul refill your hand, Past in Flames and Volcanic Vision reuse your spells, Army of the Damned makes a huge army, and In Garruk's Wake and Devastation Tide reset the board. Treasure Cruise and Spelltwine give card advantage.
Strengths & Weaknesses
Strengths: The deck has a huge range of effects and many free spells, so it can create explosive turns. It also has solid interaction, including Chaos Warp, Curtains' Call, Parting Thoughts, Evacuation, Chain of Vapor and Rakdos Charm.
Weaknesses: The deck is four colours and relies on a strong mana base, so it can stumble, and several wheels help opponents as much as you. Yidris needs to connect to turn on cascade, so it is vulnerable to blockers and removal.
