Overview
This deck is built around flipping coins and getting lucky. Okaun, Eye of Chaos and Zndrsplt, Eye of Wisdom each have "partner with" the other, so you can search one up when the other enters, and at the beginning of combat on your turn you flip a coin until you lose a flip. Whenever a player wins a flip, Okaun doubles its power and toughness until end of turn, and Zndrsplt draws you a card.
The 98 cards besides the commanders are 15 creatures, 2 planeswalkers, 16 artifacts, 7 enchantments, 7 instants, 14 sorceries and 37 lands. The creatures and spells that flip coins include Krark, the Thumbless, Tavern Scoundrel, Yusri, Fortune's Flame, Fiery Gambit, Squee's Revenge and Stitch in Time, and Krark's Thumb makes every flip better. The rest of the deck is full of artifact tutors and equipment, such as Fabricate, Reshape, Whir of Invention, Embercleave and Shadowspear.
Key Cards
Playing the Deck
The early game is about mana and setting up. Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, Izzet Signet, Talisman of Creativity, Mind Stone and Thought Vessel ramp you, and Ponder, Preordain and Serum Visions smooth your draws. Tribute Mage and Goblin Engineer find artifacts, and Krark, the Thumbless copies your instants and sorceries when you win its flip.
The middle of the game is about flipping as much as possible. Krark's Thumb improves your odds, Tavern Scoundrel and Karplusan Minotaur reward wins, Yusri, Fortune's Flame draws cards when it attacks, and Niv-Mizzet, Parun and The Locust God turn every card you draw into damage or an Insect token. Embercleave, Sword of Vengeance and Shadowspear make an attacker huge, and Bloodsworn Steward gives your commanders +2/+2 and haste.
The late game is about big gambles. Stitch in Time can take an extra turn, Fiery Gambit can draw nine cards if you win three flips in a row, and Chance Encounter can win the game on its own. Boompile, Blasphemous Act and Chaos Warp reset the board, and Seize the Day gives you an extra combat.
Strengths & Weaknesses
Strengths: The deck has many ways to draw cards, to find artifacts and to make mana, and it can win in several different ways. Krark's Thumb makes the coin flips much more favourable, and the deck has plenty of interaction, including Counterspell, Negate, Muddle the Mixture, Chaos Warp and Vandalblast.
Weaknesses: A deck that depends on coin flips will sometimes lose to bad luck, and some of its cards, such as Risky Move, Planar Chaos and Impulsive Maneuvers, can hurt you as much as your opponents. Its creature count is low, with only 15 creatures, so its board is fragile.
