Overview

Landing Party is one of four Commander decks in Star Trek Commander, the Universes Beyond set releasing on November 13, 2026. It is a Bant (green-white-blue) deck led by Commander Spock and built around the strange new worlds mechanic.

Whenever Commander Spock enters or attacks, you reveal the top card of your library. You may cast it for free if its mana value is no greater than the number of differently named lands you control, and a land can go onto the battlefield tapped instead. If the card is still on top afterwards, you draw it. Every trigger is therefore either a free spell, a free land or a card, and the strength of the trigger scales with how many different lands you have, not just how many.

What We Know So Far

Landing Party is one of four Commander decks in Star Trek Commander. Each deck has a suggested price of $74.99, and there is also a Collector's Edition version of each at $159.99. Wizards lists 32 new cards across the set's Commander decks, alongside reprints and tokens, and each deck's face commander is a foil borderless card.

The official 100-card decklist has not been published yet. This page covers what is confirmed, which is the commander, the colours and the mechanics, and the full list will be added as soon as Wizards reveals it. We only name cards on this page that we can confirm from Wizards or from the card database.

How It Plays

Until the full decklist is public, the plan comes straight from the commander. Differently named lands matter, so the deck wants a varied mana base rather than a pile of basics, because three different lands lets you cast any revealed spell with mana value three or less for free, and so on upwards.

Strange new worlds is not limited to the commander: other cards in the set use the same wording, such as a creature that gains you life equal to the number of differently named lands you control. Expect the deck to reward playing lots of unique lands and to ramp into Spock's trigger early.

The Other Decks

Star Trek Commander has four Commander decks. The other three are Federation Fleet, Klingon Fury, We Are the Borg.
