Overview
Land's Wrath is a landfall deck that wants to play a lot of lands. Obuun, Mul Daya Ancestor puts a +1/+1 counter on target creature whenever a land you control enters, and at the beginning of combat on your turn it can turn a land you control into an X/X Elemental creature with trample and haste, where X is Obuun's power. Each land drop therefore makes Obuun, and anything else you pick, bigger.
The 99 cards are 32 creatures, 3 artifacts, 9 enchantments, 9 instants, 9 sorceries and 37 lands. The creatures include landfall payoffs such as Omnath, Locus of Rage, Rampaging Baloths, Emeria Angel, Sporemound and Admonition Angel, and a set of ramp creatures such as Elvish Rejuvenator, Satyr Wayfinder, Springbloom Druid and Yavimaya Elder. Spells such as Kodama's Reach, Nissa's Renewal, Circuitous Route and Harrow fetch lands, while Zendikar's Roil and Retreat to Emeria reward each one.
Key Cards
Playing the Deck
The early game is about ramp. Sol Ring and Arcane Signet add mana, Elvish Rejuvenator, Satyr Wayfinder, Springbloom Druid, Kor Cartographer and Far Wanderings find lands, and Murasa Rootgrazer lets you put basic lands from your hand onto the battlefield. Myriad Landscape and Evolving Wilds fetch more lands, and each one triggers landfall.
The middle of the game is about landfall payoffs. Rampaging Baloths, Sporemound, Emeria Angel and Zendikar's Roil make tokens, Evolution Sage proliferates, Retreat to Kazandu adds counters or life, and Seer's Sundial draws cards. Rites of Flourishing and Abundance help you find more lands, and Armorcraft Judge draws for each creature with a +1/+1 counter.
The late game is about huge creatures and a reset. Omnath, Locus of Rage, Admonition Angel, Multani, Yavimaya's Avatar and Beanstalk Giant // Fertile Footsteps are very large, Sun Titan recurs cheap permanents, and Treacherous Terrain deals damage to each opponent equal to the number of lands that player controls. Hour of Revelation and Planar Outburst clear the board.
Strengths & Weaknesses
Strengths: The deck has a huge amount of ramp and a lot of strong payoffs, so it can go from a few lands to a very large board in a couple of turns. It also has answers for most problems, including Banishing Light, Condemn, Naya Charm, Ground Assault, Crush Contraband and Acidic Slime.
Weaknesses: The deck is three colours and relies on lands to function, so a stack of land destruction or a sweeper can hurt. Hour of Revelation and Planar Outburst also destroy your own creatures, and Rites of Flourishing gives every player extra cards and land drops.
