Overview
Mystic Intellect is a spellslinger deck that casts its spells from the graveyard. Sevinne, the Chronoclasm prevents all damage that would be dealt to it, and whenever you cast your first instant or sorcery spell from your graveyard each turn, you copy that spell and may choose new targets for the copy. The first flashback spell you cast each turn is therefore copied as well.
The 99 cards are 19 creatures, 1 planeswalker, 7 artifacts, 4 enchantments, 15 instants, 13 sorceries and 40 lands. The spells with flashback, aftermath or retrace include Think Twice, Deep Analysis, Devil's Play, Increasing Devotion, Fervent Denial, Divine Reckoning, Dusk // Dawn and Oona's Grace. Cards that care about casting spells from the graveyard include Secrets of the Dead, Burning Vengeance, Thalia's Geistcaller, River Kelpie and Backdraft Hellkite.
Key Cards
Playing the Deck
The early game is about mana and cheap spells. Sol Ring, Armillary Sphere, Azorius Locket, Izzet Locket and Burnished Hart ramp you, and Think Twice, Faithless Looting, Desperate Ravings and Dockside Extortionist start filling the graveyard and your mana. Jace's Sanctum makes instants and sorceries cheaper.
The middle of the game is about casting from the graveyard. Sevinne, the Chronoclasm copies the first spell you cast from there each turn, Elsha of the Infinite casts noncreature spells from the top of your library, Mystic Retrieval and Runic Repetition bring spells back, and Talrand, Sky Summoner, Guttersnipe and Thalia's Geistcaller turn each spell into value. Pristine Angel and Pristine Skywise untap whenever you cast spells.
The late game is about big recasts. Ignite the Future, Devil's Play and Deep Analysis are strong in the late game, Increasing Devotion makes ten Humans from the graveyard, Storm Herd makes a Pegasus for each point of life, and Divine Reckoning and Dusk // Dawn reset the board. Sun Titan and Gerrard, Weatherlight Hero bring back permanents.
Strengths & Weaknesses
Strengths: The deck has a lot of ways to get a second use out of its best spells, many of which are cheap, and it has strong control cards that can be used twice. It also has solid interaction, including Fervent Denial, Mandate of Peace, Prismatic Strands, Ray of Distortion, Farm // Market and Ghostly Prison.
Weaknesses: The deck needs a graveyard to work, so opposing graveyard hate hurts, and it has few creatures to apply pressure. Three colours and double-coloured costs in all of them can strain the mana, and Sevinne only copies spells cast from the graveyard.
