Overview
Power Hungry is a Jund sacrifice deck with a commander that makes its own sacrifice fodder. Prossh, Skyraider of Kher is a 5/5 flyer, and when you cast it you create X 0/1 red Kobold creature tokens named Kobolds of Kher Keep, where X is the amount of mana spent to cast it. For each creature you sacrifice, Prossh gets +1/+0 until end of turn. Every Kobold is a free sacrifice.
The 99 cards are 30 creatures, 8 artifacts, 13 enchantments, 2 instants, 7 sorceries and 39 lands. Sacrifice outlets include Goblin Bombardment, Blood Rites, Carnage Altar, Viscera Seer, Stronghold Assassin and Shattergang Brothers, and payoffs include Sek'Kuar, Deathkeeper, Deathbringer Thoctar, Furnace Celebration, Foster and Stalking Vengeance. Token makers such as Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder, Jade Mage, Ophiomancer and Kher Keep supply the fodder.
Key Cards
Playing the Deck
The early game is about mana and cheap bodies. Sol Ring, Obelisk of Jund, Armillary Sphere, Sakura-Tribe Elder and Spoils of Victory ramp you, Viscera Seer, Ophiomancer and Jade Mage are cheap sacrifice fodder, and Carnage Altar draws cards. Kher Keep makes Kobolds.
The middle of the game is about sacrificing for value. Prossh, Skyraider of Kher makes Kobolds and flies, Goblin Bombardment and Blood Rites burn, Sek'Kuar, Deathkeeper and Deathbringer Thoctar reward every death, Stronghold Assassin and Fell Shepherd remove creatures, and Scarland Thrinax and Sprouting Thrinax grow or leave Saprolings.
The late game is about huge swings. Inferno Titan, Charnelhoard Wurm and Walker of the Grove are big finishers, Mass Mutiny steals a creature from each opponent, Deepfire Elemental destroys a creature, and Plague Boiler, Jund Charm, Sudden Demise and Rough // Tumble reset the board. Tempt with Vengeance makes a swarm of hasty Elementals.
Strengths & Weaknesses
Strengths: The deck has a huge number of sacrifice outlets, so it is very hard to fight with creature removal, and it can drain or burn out an opponent. It also has plenty of interaction, including Vile Requiem, Reincarnation, Quagmire Druid, Spine of Ish Sah, Deepfire Elemental and Capricious Efreet.
Weaknesses: The deck is three colours with a lot of gold cards, and several of its enchantments, such as Widespread Panic and Fecundity, give opponents benefits too. Prossh costs six mana, so counterspells hurt, and the deck's gold cards need all three colours.
