T'Challa, the Black Panther arrives as one of the most flavourfully resonant commanders in recent memory. The King of Wakanda commands a deck built around the nation's greatest resource: Vibranium. The strategy accumulates artifact tokens representing Vibranium deposits, equips the team with advanced Wakandan technology, and then turns that artifact wealth into card advantage and board presence that opponents cannot match.

The Selesnya colour identity is an unusual one for artifact strategies, but Wakanda Forever makes it work by leaning into white's equipment support and green's ramp package. Shuri the Black Panther upgrades equipment on the fly, Bast Panther Goddess buffs the Panther's army, and the non-Marvel support includes Akiri, Fearless Voyager for card draw and Sigarda's Aid for instant-speed equipment deployment.

Wakanda's most iconic material forged into weapons for the Black Panther's hands. The Vibranium Strike Gauntlets are the deck's signature equipment piece, combining combat power with the Vibranium token generation that underpins the entire strategy. Every swing with these equipped advances the resource game while simultaneously threatening the opponent's life total.

Playing the Deck

The early game is ramp and development. Green's ramp package accelerates into T'Challa on turn three or four, while white's early creatures apply pressure and set up the equipment package. The goal is to have Vibranium tokens accumulating by turn four, as they serve as both currency and future threats. Sigarda's Aid allows equipment to flash in at instant speed, enabling trick deployments that opponents rarely anticipate in a Selesnya deck.

The mid game is about converting Vibranium wealth into board advantage. Shuri the Black Panther upgrades the equipment suite continuously, and Helm of the Host should be the primary equipment target for T'Challa when it appears. The token copies of the Black Panther exponentially increase the deck's output and threaten opponents on multiple fronts simultaneously. Bast Panther Goddess makes the entire team dangerous regardless of individual creature sizes.

The late game closes through sheer board dominance. A team of Vibranium-equipped Wakandan warriors backed by Bast's blessing is difficult for any single board wipe to fully clear, as the token generation rebuilds the board faster than opponents can answer it. Vibranium Strike Gauntlets ensure that even a single unblocked attacker threatens serious life total damage on every swing.

Strengths & Weaknesses

Strengths: The deck generates value on multiple axes simultaneously, making it genuinely difficult to stop once the engine is running. The artifact token generation provides both fuel for activated abilities and a resilient threat base. The flavour is exceptional, and Selesnya is an unusual colour combination for this type of strategy, catching opponents off-guard.

Weaknesses: The deck lacks black's removal suite and blue's counterspells, making it vulnerable to combo players who can assemble wins before the token army becomes lethal. The artifact focus also means that Vandalblast and similar mass artifact removal can devastate the board in a single spell. The strategy is also somewhat linear, and experienced opponents will prioritise removing T'Challa before the Vibranium engine reaches critical mass.

Verdict
Wakanda Forever is a standout precon for players who want a resilient, value-oriented strategy with exceptional flavour. The Vibranium token engine is genuinely novel, and T'Challa is a compelling commander with multiple axes of power. The deck rewards deliberate play and patience: those who build the Vibranium base carefully before engaging will find the deck nearly impossible to stop once the equipment starts deploying. Upgrading with better equipment tutors and additional Vibranium synergies would push this into genuinely powerful precon territory without losing any of the flavour.
